Okay, so not going to lie, I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!! It’s so goood...okay, deep breaths...Written by the American Author Cassandra Clare, this book is the first book in the New York Times bestselling series Mortal Instruments. This book is truthfully great for anyone who likes fiction...because this book contains everything from action to romance to fantasy to everything…

So this book starts with a supposed to be normal girl, Clary, at least until she starts seeing things, and her friend, Simon...Everything changes the day Clary sees the blue-haired boy go into a closet closely followed by two people holding a knife...That day Clary experiences and sees things she would never believe she would see.

As the story progresses, her mother starts acting weird and overprotective, mad at her mother; she goes away with her best friend, Simon. And then tragedy hits...and that tragedy makes her come to the institution with one of the “shadow hunters” she saw during the Pandemonium club.

As she stays at the institute, she learns more about the truth of her life, and she uncovers secrets...And then Clary and Jace have a run-in with both werewolves and vampires, each wanting her for a prize…

But Clary has more significant problems. Valentine, the villain in this story, is looking for a cup, a mortal cup that might just destroy the world. Will Clary figure out what to do with the secrets she figures out? Will Clary find the cup before Valentine does? And will she survive the grief, betrayal, and truths thrust upon her?
