Beautiful. That’s how I would describe this book. This book, as you have probably understood by looking at the first word, this book is utterly unique! The City of Fallen Angels is the 4th book in the bewildering series, Mortal Instruments, written by the New York Times bestseller Cassandra Clare. If you haven’t read the books before this, then you won’t understand the summary and the books before this will be spoiled, so go back now...1,2,3...remember I warned you, so let’s start!

Recap of the City of Glass (Ending): She looked as the fireworks exploded in a shower of sparks—sparks that painted the clouds overhead as they fell, one by one in streaking lines of golden fire like angels falling from the sky.

(No cliffhanger in the City of Glass, thankfully...I would have died if there was one!)

Simon’s learning. He can almost control his bloodlust, and because of the perks of having angle blood, he can be normal, at least as normal as a vampire can be. He tries, he really does...But then something happens...Something which prompts him to live with the new vocalist in his band, Jordan Kyle. If that isn’t worse, he’s hurting two people without them knowing...for now…

On the other hand, though, Clary and Jace are happy and surviving...or are they? Jace seems distant now; he runs away when Clary comes near...what is up with him? To find out, they both go to the most peculiar of places, The Silent Cities.

Meanwhile, as the story progresses, Simon is brought somewhere to strike a deal. Being a vampire, he knows he can never fit in with the shadowhunters, so Simon tries anything he can to fit in. Little did Simon know what fate had in store for him...  

Betrayal, Shock, Grief, Sympathy, Love...These emotions will rise and fall for each of the characters—a truly fascinating book. But the question is...Will they survive?
