Crooked Kingdom

Written by the American author Leigh Bardugo, this book is the sequel to the mindblowing series Six of Crows. If you haven’t read the book Six of Crows, then go back now...spoilers ahead.

Kaz Brekker and his crew have just finished their deadly heist. But instead of being faced with a big fat payment to make them rich, they were faced with betrayal. But Kaz, stubborn as ever, didn’t give the prize to save their lives.

But Kaz made one mistake; instead of staring his betrayer right in his eye, he looked at Inej to see if she was okay. That one mistake cost him his spy and the girl who he cared about so much. Kaz’s crew is betrayed and weak, with no resources, no spy, and no hope.

But Kaz won’t give up. He will set Inej free, ruin Pekka Rollins piece by piece, and kill Van Eck for taking Inej. On the other hand, Inej is being bribed and tortured as Van Eck’s men try to pry information from her. As the story moves on...powerful forces come into Ketterdam threatening to kill, but later, those powerful forces help Kaz’s Crew get justice, something that has to be taken, not given.

As the plan is set in place to ruin the betrayers and save Inej, things keep on getting heated up as each secret is revealed. As old rivals and new ones join together, and as people change sides, a test is given to Kaz’s Crew, the hardest one yet... The test to see where their fragile loyalties lie.

In this book, the crew goes through sadness, betrayal, anger, and loss...They survived it all, so will they survive one more shocking loss that will take all of them by surprise?

Will they be able to save Inej on time? Will they ruin Van Eck for betraying them? Will Wylan get his face back, or will he be tailored in someone else’s face forever? Will they get their former glory back? And the most important one, Will they win?
