Crown of Midnight

Written by the American author Sarah J. Mass, Crown Of Midnight is the second book in the thrilling series, Throne of Glass. As brave and stunning as ever, Celaena Sardothien has just won the competition and became the King's assassin. But instead of feeling like the King's Assassin, she feels more like his butcher. Her days are spent scrutinizing her targets and then killing them. But she hides a secret that not even her closest friends can know...A secret that could destroy everyone she knows and cares about. But Celaena's not the only one keeping secrets; her closest friends and allies are also keeping secrets.

People are not who they seem; friends become enemies, enemies become friends, and every person has a secret. Each more dangerous than the other. But sadly, that isn't the only problem Celaena has. She has to figure out where the Wyrdkeys are before the King does...Because if he finds all three of them, then no one will be able to stop the doom that will fall on them. And then...Baba Yellowlegs is dead. The terrorizing leader of her kind is dead. But that's not the only death that is in tow. Princess Nehemia is also dead.

After her death, Celaena's grief and anger know no bounds, and desperate as she is, she decides to open the portal to ask the dead princess, her best friend, a few questions, and say a proper goodbye she never got a chance to say. But little did she know that fate had different plans for her.

Opening the portal led to complications she never expected. She meets her best friend's real killer there. She lets loose a beast that should kill her, but then suddenly two people appear, Captain Westfall and the Crown Prince himself. During this horrible and challenging time, Captain Westfall figures out three things about her… Celaena Sardothien is Fae, the missing princess, and the rightful heir to the throne of Terrasen...

Will Celaena survive what fate throws her way, or will she cripple under the weight of her grief, anger, and sadness?
