To make her feel better, Dex, Grady, and her go on a journey to find a yeti...but they find something else...something that could change and revert the timeline of extinction...something that the counselors have been looking for centuries and couldn’t find. 

As the story progresses, Sophie gets a gift from the Black Swan. As reckless as ever, Sophie ignores the requests to disregard the Black Swan’s signal and goes to meet them. 

And then...Alden asks Sophie to help him with a challenging and confidential mission. As Sophie agrees, she finds herself in prison, creating a mind link with Alden while he interrogates a prisoner called Fintan. But things go off-road as Alden sees Prentice, the innocent guy whose mind break he ordered...and then he faints…

In this story, Sophie suffers through many struggles, sadness, danger, and near-death experiences. Will Sophie get her mind to stop malfunctioning? Will Sophie be able to figure out what the Black Swan wants from her? Will she and Silveny bond together? Most importantly, will she be able to fix what happened to Alden and mend her friendship with the Vackers?
