Throne of Glass
Written by the American author Sarah J. Mass, this book is one of the most astonishing things I have ever read! A must-read for those who prefer fantasy! This book is the story of an 18-year-old assassin named Celaena Sardothien, who was doomed to a lifetime full of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier. After surviving a year, where most only last a month, she was dragged into an audience with the Crown Prince of Adarlan, who proposes her an offer she can't refuse: To be his champion for the span of three years, and in return, Celaena gets the freedom to go wherever she wants.
But her being the most skilled assassin in all of Adarlan wasn't enough for the King of Adarlan. He wanted to host a competition where everyone would be competing for the honor of being the King's Assasin. Celaena found her competitors to be assassins, soldiers, and thieves. All men. As the tests started, she found herself training with the Captain of the Guard, Chaol Westfall.
The tests were brutal and troublesome, nothing Celaena couldn't handle, but the real problem was the murders. Someone in the palace was trying to murder all the people competing to become the king's assassin, and that wasn't all; someone was also drawing Wyrdmarks under her bed. Celaena's days were filled with exercise and despair. And her nights weren't any better. She met Elena, the 1st princess of Terrasen in her dreams, who warned her about the castle's dangers.
Will Celaena be able to find and stop the evil in time? Will she be able to preserve her friendship with her one true friend, Princess Nehemia? Will she win the competition and become the kings champion, or will she falter and be sent back to the salt mines in Endovier?
Huh, that sounds cool. I started reading her other series last year but I didn't like it so maybe I'll try this.
